Cephalodella panarista, a Cephalodella species with medium toes (total length vs. toe length:≈ 4:1). Lateral view of specimen from (1). The combination of the traits: frontal eyespot and 1!! tooth-like spine on the dorsal side of the (dorsally bent) toes separates this species from Cephalodella forficula (frontal eyespot & two rows of transverse spicules on the dorsal side of the toes) and Cephalodella stenroosi (no eyespot) (1)
